ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) intervention available

Posted by at 2:24 PM

ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) are traumatic experiences during childhood such as parental separation or divorce, child abuse (physical, emotional and sexual), domestic violence and living with someone who has been incarcerated or a mental illness or a substance use disorder.  Studies have identified a link between adverse childhood experiences and poor physical and mental health decades later.  If a young child experiences trauma, natural childhood development may slow or even stop.  Ron Davis created an intervention called the Davis Life Concepts(DLC)-The Early Years, originally written to help individuals on the autism spectrum unblock the reason their natural development hasn't occured or not fully occured, that can help these individuals affected by ACEs.  Life Concepts that may have been missed or not fully developed are created in clay and then experienced in their environment.  DLC-Early Years workshops for counselors, psychologists, teachers, and parents are now available through the GEM Learning Center.  Contact Anne @ 715-551-1744 or email [email protected] for more information.
