Here at GEM Learning Center, I've been working with a wonderful 22 year old autistic individual for about 3 months. Last month she went to Disney with her family and brought me back this keychain with the word HOPE on it. She said that with me facilitating the Davis Autism Approach with her, it gave her HOPE to be able to participate more fully in life. She had no meltdowns on the trip, which her mom and her sister commented never would have happened before the Davis program. She always had motion in her vision, which provoked a lot of anxiety because even a parked bus always moved. The constant movement also didn't allow her to read or write. She is now able to read some and it's her goal to be able to write. Her therapists and psychologists are thrilled with her progress. #autism #davisautismapproach #gemlearningcenter
